Apocalypse 2012 is a theory born of fear and ignorance

In 2000 years of Christian history, hundreds of millions of people waited in fear the coming of the apocalypse. Many prophets predicted it by interpreting the biblical texts in the best way they thought. They seeded fear and penitence in their follower hearts. Some of them went even further and determined their followers to commit suicide before the fatidic day. Until now none was right , humanity followed its course slowly succeeding to free itself from many of the dogmas and understanding that only science can explain the past, the present and the future.
We can remember that in 2000 even the biggest skeptical thought that the inevitable will happen. The followers of 2000 as an apocalyptic year may say that their calculations were wrong when they interpreted the sacred texts, skeptical : ’’I don`t think anyone believed that balderdash’’ ,conspirators: ’’World power manipulated the informations to lead us wrong.’’. Actually they all are disappointed, the desire of sensational was not satisfied at all.
Now Apocalypse followers are using the Maya calendar to predict the end of the world.
What is this really all about, the Maya civilization started to develop in Central America around the year 2600 BC having marvelous achievements by 900 AC when with no known reason they started fleeing their cities. The most remarkable thing they could leave humanity is their calendar, which not even now we did not approximate its precision. In my opinion it`s greater than all the Egyptian pyramids together. Only a civilization having advanced astronomy and mathematics knowledge could measure time so precise. The calendar points to the beginning of the world in 3113 BC and the end in 2012 AC.
The world surely did not start in 3113 BC so why should we believe it will end in 2012?
The only problem is why did they stop counting time to 21.12.2012? There two hypotheses one is the simple one that as easy as they left their beautiful cities in 900 AC as easy they could have left time alone. The other hypotheses is another question itself: How come a civilization who could calculate time for the next 5000 years thought the earth was flat? How did a brilliant civilization do such a big mistake with all their calculations in earth physics? Or was there no reason to calculate time after 2012?
What’s more warring is that most of the scientists calculated that in 2012 is the peak of magnetic pole shifting for Erath, and this is warring. Earth changes and perhaps that is the reason why the Maya astronomers didn`t know how to calculate time anymore.
One question remains: How did they know when the shifting will take place?
If the Earth changing can be considered an Apocalypse then it is surely coming. When will it come the End of The Word? Then the laws of physic are going to decide that or the humanity will destroy itself.
